2009 Festival Review

The grand weather of summer was in full swing as filmmakers converged on Domecountry for the seventh film festival hosted here. The week-end was full of excitement and fun with filmmakers Like SV Bell, Matthew Saliba, and Olivier Labonte Lemoyne being the talk of the scene, since they had travelled all the way from Montreal. That was cool allright, but Kiril Kripak took the prize for travelling the farthest so far to attend the festival, he flew in from Dubai, incredible! Local support was very noticeable as well, the cast and crew from "This Movie Sucks" in Richmond Hill, were a nice treat. Toronto was represented by Jason, and Brett Butler, and of course Dennis Logan, who hasnt missed a festival here yet, presented a remake of his famous"French Onion"film.
Saturday morning we were treated to complimentary golf game at Cedar Links, very nice. The traditional Sunday morning brunch was a delight as usual at Innisbrook golf course. The films were the best ever with SV Bells feature "Crawler" being the best of the horror films. The audience really liked the feature presented by John Durno ..certainly the best comedy feature. Matthew Saliba presented "Dark Lotus" his films are always a treat in so many subtle ways. A very succesful festival for all, with no troubles everyone smiling..whohoo! I sincerely hope we will have even a better time for the 2010 festival. Dont be shy come out and support these amazing indie artists. Hope to see you at the fest!
